Guys,

does anyone have a link to the specification's of the PHR-803T diode. Iv done some googling but cant seem to find any information on it.
Reason i ask is because a supplier is telling me there is a replacement diode for the PHR-803T which is CHEAPER... and i want to make sure they are similar.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers

The only way to really be able to tell is to graph the power output of the "cheaper" diode. See if you can acquire a sample.

Hmm ok, well just for the purpose of sharing knowledge.
The diode im talking about is the 0811T which apparently replaces the PHR-803T, for what reason im not sure...talking to sales reps from china is hard work =P

If anyone has any info on it please do share.

GooeyGus mentioned that while the D0811T can takes up to 120mA or so, it doesn't really increase the output power after about 60mA. For the power graph and such, look at this.

yea I wouldn't really take it past 60mA. BUT I only had one diode to test, I took it up to 140mA and back and it lived, but I think I just got lucky with that. I would assume ~60mA is the sweet spot for the DT0811, but without another diode I have no way of knowing. I killed that diode before I got my LPM, so I'm not really sure what it was kicking out. But I can tell you that they are definitely not as weak as everyone thinks they may be...
