is there a way to get the diode no heatsink, but also include the sled?
Not sure how much sense i'm making, its late, but i didn't see an option for it.

well its still like buying the sled and just having me take the diode/heatsink out for u is that what u want ? if so i can do that

yes, thats exactly what i mean.
I'm not going to be ordering now, but i'll just PM you when i do want to?

Well, I got the two blu-ray diodes today... and guess what? Both broke :( . Idk what could've went wrong. They just didn't light up at all. I soldered everything fine, I know the circuit works, NOTHING. Actually, the first one did nothing, similar like my last two I got from Drew (never saw a light - EVER). The second one light up for a fraction of a sec... then went out and wouldn't ever turn on again. Its not like it got too hot within a FRACTION of a sec. The driver was set at 125mA. I'm really getting frustrated. Thats my 12th broken diode out of 15. I've used up all my money and now I'm BROKE - not a single dollar in my wallet :( . I'll try to scrounge up some more money and then buy two more, but idk how soon that'll be. I'm really getting sick and tired of ALL my diodes breaking, even though I KNOW i've done everything right for these last 4 or 5 diodes.

did u discharge the cap on ur driver ? send me ur driver an modual ill make it work for ya if u like and when u get the funds for the diode u can just pay me then for it ?

hmmm. well I think you can narrow down your problem to either your mailman hates you, or you need to do something drastically different when creating lasers.

maybe try a different driver... I dunno.

What wattage soldering iron do you use ? Do you use a heat sink to draw heat away from the diode when soldering ? Do you turn down the pot and gradually increase the current until you reach your desired output? Is the diode in a module when you test it ? how much voltage do you use to test it?
These are all issues that can destroy the diode . I know from experience , and now have 9\10 builds working stable . It take a little time and money to get the knack .
If you have any questions , please feel free to pm me.
