Photonic Disruptor

BooBoo said:
sorry but those were the sort of responces I'd have expected from the lc forum members :-/
No I think your politically correct responses are what you get on the LC ;)

damn, thats the way, just continue to cock-block questions....enough post your pictures I dont care ...I can close my eeys I guess.... but when you put up a pic like that with no other responce to a legitamite question...it blocks the question for most other members to answer, for many Only look at the first post, and last before they go to respond to a thread or not.
Ok No one buy the PH, its over-priced and frankly irrisponsibly advertized
& does anyone know why its so difficult to find a laser above 5mW with an ajustbale focusing lens.... or where they sell ajustable focusing attachments ?

Thank you for your permission to post whatever I like on my forum ;)

I agree with you 100% the PH is advertised all wrong and will attract all the wrong attention from youngsters and newbies.....

Here's an interesting question to think about though. What is novalasers, r laserglow had come out with the exact same product, advertised the exact same way? IE, if the PD product page popped up on NL instead of WL?

Just some food for thought ;)

yep, if they don't try it on humans you can be sure some idiot kid will at least try it on an animal. and i just found the pics argument silly, since it's so so easy to get your browser to block them if you don't want to see them, and then there's no more arguments about it. can't complain about what you can't see :)

No dont be sorry about the pic, I was just getting as frustrated trying to get an answer as I had on LC...where they almost downright refuse to answer actual questions.... and yess marriane I know, and stated I can just avert my eyes from it... but my point being, was that to answer a legit question with No answer but a big neon pic of hahas, burries the question, as it has been burried now :-X

i dunno about anyone else, but i'd find it just as irresponsible and shameful, of the company to do that. i'd stop recommending nova to people on principle, unless they took the page down and apologised. but, i think other laser companies actually care about the industry enough to not provoke law makers into tougher measures on high powered lasers.

And as I've said before on this forum "If you don't like it here then piss off to the LC" and carry on having a pop at me about how I post here I'll review a few peoples posting privileges ;)

"Now laugh, wind your necks in, be disgusted whatever it is just get on with it! I'm not gonna change for anyone here >:(

I'm sure the LC would be great for those who wish to leave.......

agreed, I as well would think thier advertizing practices where just as irrisponsable as WL is right now....But WL use to(at least) avocate Not to use the lasers they sell in the manner of which they practically Tell people to use them now ;)
~Now, getting back to what I feel is the main selling point of the PD..its Ajustable focus...anyplace sells attachable ones, if so where, if not why not except above 5mW ..if in fact there is a reason beyong not having had the hind-sight to do so yet ?

tl thats been squashed already several posts back....now back to the questions ....any answers ....any ideas why or if so ? :-?

booboo, i'm sorry but i gotta point something out - the posts would never have been buried if you hadn't started an argument about the pics, which has taken up close to two pages of this thread (as opposed to just one or two posts with the pics). i'm not trying to be mean or anything at all, but if you didn't like the pic, you really should've just ignored it n moved on, you know?

I think the main issue is the limited number of manufacturers. We have plenty of places to buy lasers from - WL, LG, NL, Opto, etc. None of they are actual manufacturers. The people who do manufacturer lasers also normally buy generic parts and cases from another limited body of source.

I'm sure all of these resellers (myself included) would love to get their hands on some high power focusables, but with the long chain you'd have to go through to get a new product made to your specs, it may be a while till see something good, with a good price to match.

(IE, I've once considered making an attachment for the RPLs that screws into the front threads and would be a focusable upcollimator. However, when I figure the cost of prototyping, parts, and then consider the labor I'd have to put into it due to the limited machinery I have, the asking price would just be too high for my liking. The companies that actually could do it cheaply would probably want me buying in the thousands+ quantity)

No argument, I just stated in that one post that was directly after TLs first in this thread, a line or so about lol ok that was funny and disgusting, then posted my legit questions over again so they would not be 'burried' by a post that had no responce... none besides a > . < , to which was just answered by another post with no responce at all....hence frustration built, at having had stated please let the questions be answered, to which you marrianne had to jump on the TL bandwagon.... enough, even after I say ok well I can just close my eyes to it if it bothers me, now and then again stated my questions, to have them burried by being chastized for voicing how disturbing I thought it was, when if peoples read posts as Ps...(your names too long dude lol jk)does/did, they could see that the pics ceased to be an issue...post more pics more with different poses please so wonderful are they, I do not care, what I was getting at is like you(it would seem) many people read the first and last post of a thread only...and most of the inbreween responces get lost or unread.... hence burried.
So finally at least a responce to the questions was had, Thank you for sticking to the topic Pseud...(still too long... my fingers hurt just thinking of typing your SN lol jk.....and thanks for the responce...
Now another focusable question, lest it too be burried by folks wishing to chastize me again for a dead issue... Has anyone bought one of those 5mW ajustable greenies yet, and or tried to mod a more powerful mW level laser into its case... would that work or would there be issues with the colmunator that most lasers already have built into them... if so would a mod such as that work if you just 'slipped a more powerful laser into a gutted 5mW ajustable case, or would the colmunating/focusing lens train in said more-powerful laser have to be first removed ? :-? ?

well first off the Photonic disruptor IS NOT eye safe, nor is it a true dazzler. I've gotten into the same quagmire over on CPF. The PD is just a expensive focus adjustable water-resistant laser. if you set the focus for maximum divergance the output power within the first several feet will still be great enough to cause permanent eye damage. The real laser dazzlers have a 4-6 inch aperture and the beam starts at full width so if you use them point blank, they are just as safe as a 5mw laser ( power density mw/mm^2 ). True dazzlers also are pulsed, both to further reduce eye damage potential and to increase the disorienting effect of the light.

would pulsed be a q-switch, or are there other means in wich to have a pulsed laser-beam ?
And has anyone tried to mod a more powerful mW laser into an available focusable 5mW ? is so, did it work well, if not feasble, why, in your opinions ? :-?

a simple circuit to vary the voltage would likely suffice. and i don't jump on bandwagons, i just try stop silly arguments.
