Phlatlight in a Saik SA-305

Got bored the other night around 3am. Couldnt go back to sleep.
Wife woke up and knocked the heck out of me. Almost got the old trouser snake.:tsk:

So what better way to recover then play with my flashlights/leds.

And as for powering it. its just running off the three aa's in the holder that comes with the light bypassing the driver.
Also heat sinking.............. All i did was cut some fins off a finned sink that was
laying around. Some to fit where the emitter once was on the pill and used some thermal adhesive. Slapped that red bad boy on it and rolled with it. lol
The emitter isnt 100% center but its close enuf for me. It has ran for 10 min straight with no issue. I know its not as bright as it could be. But for right now it is good enuf for me till i get better batts and heat sinking lol.

Awesome work. I have thought about using a Saik host myself. Has a good deep reflector, that nice metal pill for the LED to sit on and a lot of mass for heat dissipation.:gj:

Oh yeh, it's probably not heating up cause the aa batts can't supply anywhere near enough current

Nice host for sure... (I have Saik kits now)

But for a PT-54 emitter, you need a reflector that can take the heat. Plastic won't do for that.

Still pretty cool for really short duty though...

Ya i need to figure out something for a reflector........Might be out of luck I dunno yet.
I will just have to look around.
Also need to get a better heat sink thought about a sink that would fill the pill area and also go down in the battery tube. And have it fit around a 18650 or something. Be a heat sink and a batt tube all in one lol.
I am thinking about getting someone on here with some lathe skills to whip me one up.
But I need to figure out a reflector before I even bother with it lol. That and a glass lens.
