PHASER diodes! HELL YAA!!

These sound like very interesting diodes indeed!

I'm looking forward to your power measurements, and it'd be cool to include a graph for Senkat's GB diodes in the series so we can all compare.

The price seems quite hefty at $40-$50, but then again, if they prove easy to handle at good power levels, it might be worth it!

Wow!!! It doesn't seem that they are multimode! If they actually put out what they've been said too, that would be amazing! At the moment it seems they do.

I can't wait to get ahold of at least one of these. :)

Wow, I can't believe I didn't see this thread! I'm gonna be selling more stuff on eBay so I can get some money to fund all of these group buys I'm in!

Hehe.... they do cost a lot of money for something so tiny, don't they?

I'd love to see the graphs on these, and get my hands on a few when it looks promising.

Hey Mike...
We are still awating final specs...

But thusfar...If Daedal Is impressed with a Diode...it deserves a second look!!!!!

I'm saving up funds for these as we speak....Looking for loose change in the Sofa...going through my jacket pockets hanging in the closet..ect..ect...

I wonder if Daedal will take payment for 3 or 4 of these in Quarters, Nickles, and Dimes.... ;D

;D ;D

If you can get it here... the bank will take it ;)

I'm still waiting for the power meter to arrive... Seems like Greg has had a small problem with his meter so my 'measuring' ability is hindered until I can get a meter somehow... or until the GB meters arrive ::)

Sorry guys... I'm so sorry :-[ This is really an unforeseen problem that I just really don't have any power measuring solution as of yet...

Daedal,
Perhaps you could send it to someone whom has a thermal meter. The LPM-1 is programmed for 660nm and will not give you an accurate reading.

True -- The LPM-1 is calibrated at 660 nM.. But the error shifting to 650 will be minimal. I don't care if its 500 mW or 532.6875 mW !!!!
Greg had his ND crack apparently. Let's be patient here -- We all have projects to do.

Mike

Sorry to sound impatient. I know most of us do this in our "spare" time and just for the fun of it. I get overly excited sometimes. :D

Yeah...I think it was about 10% when pseudo compared it using his lasercheck and the other meter he has. So it should be close enough I guess.. :P

It really is not that big a deal. I have a thermal sensor... 2 of them actually... I have yet to calibrate them though since I don't have a reference. With an optical meter I could calibrate to known measurements like 532nm of which I have 5 different levels, create a full graph and a curve (which should be linear) for the power measurements from the thermal sensors. With that done, I'll confirm the readings with some reds and then measure the output of the diodes on both thermal and optical sensors. Both of which will be graphed to a PC through a PC link.

The fact that I am still without a meter now is really embarrassing. I really didn't expect this to happen... I'm sorry guys, really :-[

This should never be a problem once the LPM's are done... only 3 more weeks...

Daedal,
Seriously...no problem. The wait is always worth it, and I am sure it will be in this case too.. :)
