This thread isn't sell

- its use driver boost from me
- it is SHarp diode 35mW , i set at 160mA
- power ~50mW
- duty cycle: 30s
- battery: 1 x 10440

This is very nice. I have a couple of questions.
- What diode is it, how much does it cost? What current are you driving at?

- Where did you get the host, do you machine it yourself?

Hello thanhtung,
Beautiful build, beautiful photos, and beautiful frequency. Just beautiful!

I love those little hosts - and that modification you did to it is very cool!! Well done :gj:

Nice work. It looks like a cool little laser. The brass heatsink looks good enough for more than 30s of continuous operation.

That's a beauty, thanhtung, I really like your custom finned brass heatsink and a wonderful wavelength to top it off!

Nice build. These diodes are case positive, unless you got one from DTR, which are actually 510nm. In order to use a boost driver with this diode you must have isolated the diode from the case of the host. Considering your set current of 160 mA and the fact that it does have a heat sink you should get more run time than just 30 seconds. I have a Sharp diode that measures 488nm in a host a little bigger than yours set at 275 mA and I can get over three minutes out of it. That is just the longest I've had it on so far and it doesn't even get warm. :thanks: for sharing yours here.

thanks for your sharing! i tried and see that i get more run time 60s and get a litle warm;)

So, is it a case positive diode or not? It doesn't look like it would be easily isolated from the boost driver the way you show it here. If it is not case positive, did you get it from DTR? I don't know of any other sources of case neutral 505nm diodes. What iteration number is around the diode's window? I can tell you where the wavelength will fall from that.

Cool, can you tell us a little more bout that driver? Other than boost, and that it has an inductor and a diode, is it trim pot adjustable? What are some of it’s parameters? Are they for sale? Seeing your business cards displayed next to your builds, you must have the intent to sell. Please do share.
