hi everyone iv got these two spare p8079hp iit tubes for sale, both home built devices have focasable objective lens with adjustable iris.. both have very good gain. and i havent really used them much, i bought three but soon realised i could only use one at a time! so three of them is excessive, so they need new homes (preferebly in the uk i am after 445nm 1watt or 2watt diodes and drivers and hosts, i will consider any response.. these tubes are decent tubes!!

Do these use some sort of rechargeable battery?

they use 4x AA (6volt) they can run from 3volt up to 6.75volt, but 6volt is more than enough. batteries last for weeks in them! iv never had to change them yet..

And is this basically a fully working night vision scope?

I was after a 445 diode with a module for each one that would cover cost, they are a bit heath Robinson as people say... They need better battery boxes putting on, you might even build a. New better. 1 445diode + module for 1 image intensifier .....they are very basic just the tube with lense and eyepiece and baterypack glued on side with a push button . They work well with 4aa cells. Good without illumination, amazing with it.. they are 3 stage cascade xmilitary UK tubes used but 100% operational with no blemishis. They have also been through a process to accelarate the degassing pack in side, to ensure that are as good as they can be..

Check the date on the thread... it's from 2012. The seller was last active in 2013. I doubt you'll get a response.

Could try eBay for image intensifier tubes.
