Order placed/received:1.2W 445nm Rifle Via Lazerer

AFAIK, The V2 Rifles use a Linear Driver - when voltage drops to 3.2V/cell the Rifle no longer lases. At 3.25 to 3.7V the laser operates but at very reduced output.

Yep, huge difference in a fully charged set of batteries in my Rifle. Thinking about buying a "Big Boy" now.

I should also note, the only batteries that I don't top off compulsively are AW's with protection circuits on them....

Meaning I rarely if ever have a battery even approach below 3.2v.

Having as laser lase at a lower output with a since battery is a HUGE bonus imo, and I'm surprised lazerer, rayfoss or o-like don't capitalize on it a bit.

Indeed, I really wish it had a nice boost driver and a better heatsink, but what can ya do, that's what custom builds are for.

Aside from the cheap trustfires that came with the rifle, I ONLY use AW IC Protected cells for Li-Ions. I still compulsively top them off though, haha. I just don't worry about overdischarge anymore. Those trustfires as terrible, btw. I'm keeping them just so I can use them in a cheap lasersman $15 16340 side clicky greenie. If I OD them to death who cares, they suck.

Lol... yup, exactly the same with me. I'll use cheaper batteries in low powered lasers, but for any of my better lasers, I only use good batteries.

Need to order more protected AW's actually:p I use 14500's in my edc flashlight, and absolutely love the fact that the protection circuit kicks in without me having to worry about it.

This is for the Devil Rifle 405nm 500mW isn't it?

A single 18650 can't replace 2 x 16340's (without an extension tube and using 2). Both types are rated 3.7v and the DevRife 405/500 has a working voltage of 7.2v.(hence 2 x 16340)
I expect it will drop from 500mW to about 5mW when the voltage from both 16340's drops to 6.2v ,ish.

Yes it is the 405nm 500mW, I understand it a little better now. Looks, like I need to buy a few lasers to put those brand new 18650's I bought a while back lol. Thanks

After the long wait for my laser, I used it for a total of 5 minutes and it stopped working. I followed the duty cycle properly, I didn't drop it or anything...it just stopped. I'm waiting on a reply from max but I imagine I'll have to send it back and wait another 2 months before I receive a replacement/repair. Anyone else ever have to return a laser to LAZERER?

I looked at some other posts and people with the same problem have had issues with the tail cap so hopefully that's the only issue I have.

Yes, me. What do you wanna know?
The only problem I had returning a Laser to Max was there was no-one there to accept it when it arrived and it came back again. However, he did send me out a replacement straight away when he bacame aware of this and It arrived a day or two after the faulty one came back again.

It might be an easy fix if it's just the tailcap and you might not have to send the whole thing back - see how Max replys.

I checked out the tail cap and it seems to be ok but I don't really know what to look for lol. I'll just wait for Max until I start messing with anything. That's good to hear that it didn't take too much time to resolve your problem.

Yeah, unless its obviously broken it would be difficult to see.
On one of the other threads about a faulty tailcap it mentioned turning that retaining plate with the two little holes one way or the other which fixed the problem. (edit: Ah, I see you've posted on that thread)
Best to wait until Max gets back to you first though.

The laser still works if you bypass the tailcap doesn't it?

sidenote: Occasionaly I have to shake my O-like 500 to get it working but it's not a fault with the host or anything. It's the Samsung batteries I'm using at the time. They have very flat +ve ends which barely sit flush with the battery casing. Sometimes they just dont make proper contact; It's the same trying to sit them in a charger and charge them up.

I tried tightening it a little but that didn't help. I hadn't even thought about bypassing it but I just tried and it didn't work. So I guess that means my problem is internal.

hmm, i got ordered mine on the 14th march, shipped on 16th, recived on 19th. and im in the UK ;) so pretty good sevice i would say, i just got some dud batts tho, as my laser doesnt burn much (100mw green)

I ordered the "LCZS Classic 100mW green" from lazerer on the 18th of April, shipped on the 24th and it would've gotten here by now. I live in Canada and it's been two days and I'm a little paranoid with Canadian customs seizing my laser. (I'm in Vancouver)

sweet!
another vancouver member!
welcome!
just wait another week or so
sometimes customs are slowww

how you will know if cutoms take it: its still not here in 6 months... -.-
