Does it light matches?

Yes it does. The only matches I have right now are storm proof matches from REI and they are thick and robust. The >150mW laser lit it in under 1 second. It also pops ballons instantly...but then again balloons are easy to pop. I will get some different matches to see how fast they can be lit.

3 sec exposure, that's so much. It's for sure not as bright in real, i can't belive at 90 degrees from the beam you can't see through it like it's shown in the photos.

a good try could be to light a match at about 2 meter...and give us how moch seconds it requires :) :P can you do this?i think you have regular "red" matches....

I think you're dreaming, a 150mw 532nm laser is not going to light a match from a 2 meter distance unless a focusing lens is used or the laser is of a type that allows for the focus of the beam and or is emitting a large amount of IR.

To answer your question from another thread, our lasers do not have focusing lenses attached. They are collimated lasers that have their focus distance set to infinity.
You had also mentioned some laser with very low divergence, if you are using a focusing lens ie. have a lens on the end of a laser which can be adjusted; to measure divergence the beam spot diameter needs to be measured at a distance of about 10x the distance from the laser to the focusing point. Otherwise it's not divergence as you cannot include the distance from the end of the laser to the focus point as the beam is getting smaller (ie negative divergence, whcih cannot be included) and must be at a very long distance beyond (most texts suggest >10x the distance from the laser to the focus point).

On the 150mw 532nm pen pointer being capable of lighting a match if not at a lens focused point. In my experience, it is possible depnding on the match, humidity if it is from a close distance of perhaps a foot or less if held steady, but it is really right at the limit of 150mw depending on the these variables and the divergence of the individual laser.
