Optical rail and a REO HeNe

So this is a brief demo of how I use my optical rail in tandem with my REO 4 line.

I will go over external cavities, gaining extra lines, and tuning in a later video.

I will likely do a similar video with the tunable to show a more visible external cavity.

Very informative video. My question, though, is how the external cavity resonator has more than double the power that it would have without the mirror. In my mind, a mirror simply doubles the photonic flux. Unless the other side of the built-in HC also reflects, creating two, separate resonators?

Because there is not another mirror only letting 1% or so pass at any given wavelength.

A better example would use a 633nm tube, however all 3 of mine seem to be on the fritz.

The exiting light is hitting another mirror that only passes 1% of the light. So the other 99% now must reflect and resonate through the mirrors. Some of it will go all the way through, about 1%. The other 99% will resonate between the resonator you created.

It's a lot to factor in, but there's a lot of light at play. You'll see it in the argon demonstration. One of these mirrors I think was made for 514nm.
