I put my 638nm C6 back together earlier today, with new parts from DTR and it's once again up and running! Same setup, Opnext HL63603TG 638nm with Flexdrive set at 300mA. Works great!
Since I was fixing that laser I figured I'd put together something brand new as well. So, I ordered an Osram PL450 diode with Microboost driver set at 300mA and dropped that into my other C6 host, and now that's working too. Both have their respective G2 lenses.
I went with diode and driver units already set up since the parts are so small. Soldering the wires in such a small space (or so it seems to me) was a bit nerve-wracking at first but proved to not be a problem. I imagine a PL520 build isn't too far behind.
Anyway, 2 out of 2 success laser attempts, I think that's a pretty good day.
