Opinion on o-like Power Rock Green laser Torch 50mW /Focusable&Waterproof?

The same thing was happening a few weeks ago and people were getting the paypal option after emailing.
It was fixed quick enough but it seems its happening again.

Hmmm,

Something must be seriously wrong.

Why don't you guys email Susie, and ask directly?

Got a reply (though I'm not entirely sure whether it was triggered by my own email, or by running a purchase all the way to the credit card screen and then exiting).

Instructed by said reply of the correct paypal address to send the money (along with my order ID) to. (I guess an invoice was generated when I went all the way to the credit card screen, as mentioned). Just got another email confirming that payment was received. So I guess everything turned out alright.

So hey, as a curiosity, I'm pretty sure O-like is shipping from China or somewhere, but from all the comments I've heard here, the shipping isn't as bad as most such sites (~a month or more)... Anyone able to chime in on how long I should expect shipping to take? Currently in southern Oregon, chose lowest cost shipping.

They are located I Singapore so shipping standard should be about 2-3 weeks

Funny enough I placed my order for the same laser this morning and I am just outside of Portland.

The race is on, we will see whose comes first ;)

Lol, I'd almost put money on you getting your laser exactly one day before me. To my memory, every time I order something to Klamath Falls, when tracking hits Portland, it arrives one day later. Which was sort of amusing the time one item updated to "in Portland" the day before I was headed there for a visit home.

Compared to wholesellers, O-Like are specializing in one area and for the same reason their order backlog will be significant smaller and alot faster to process. I have ordered from Pickegg.com in the past, and after two weeks my package hadnt even left the country. From my experience with O-Like, I have almost always gotten my package within 2 weeks, and I am located in Denmark.

Got my shipping notification today. Hoping this gets in before I head home for break... Still got about 3 weeks, so I probably don't need to worry too much.

Laser arrived today... Only thing is, it arrived in Portland for some reason. I sent an email, and it indeed was sent to my house there.

I guess... maybe paypal supplied my home address, and O-like's system defaulted to that? Seems weird though, because the invoice page clearly lists my college mailbox as "delivery address"... I guess I'll be waiting a while to use this laser =/

Damn thats annoying! I have had issues with PayPal overruling the delivery address entered at webshops. I guess its to prevent some scams where the delivery address differs from PayPals information. Its piss annoying if the invoice states otherwise and that should be pointed out to O-Like. The invoice should ofcourse show the actual address the package is going to be delivered to and should never be overruled if an address has been entered in the shop.

Yeah, I sent them an email, and got back the generic "We're very sorry for our careless mistake!" response. Hopefully it'll all end up working out, I called back home, and hopefully the post office will let them just forward it on to the right address. I can't imagine this sort of thing is rare for USPS, with stuff like people getting mail for previous house owners and the like, so they might even just allow it to be re-labeled and sent off at no charge.

Alright, finally got ahold of this laser. It's alright, seems sturdy, and the beam is reasonably visible in even slightly dark conditions. The belt holster is also nice.

The one complaint I'd have to say I have about it is the focus ring... Really tricky to focus this laser to infinity. I expected it to be similar to the blue laser I bought here (adjusting all the way in one direction focuses to infinity), but instead I have to find somewhere far away to point it, then fiddle with the focus until I have it as tight as I can objectively tell. I dunno, maybe this is standard, but I'd much rather have an easy way to have a small, tight beam rather than "as good as I can tell".

Mine was like that as well so I took it apart and adjusted the focusing lens to where it would be focused to infinity when it was tightened all the way down. Not all that hard to do.

The easiest way to do this is to unscrew the bit inside the crown and take out the glass window in the front. then put it back together and use a pin to focus it as tight as you can get it to something far away, apply just a tiny drop of blue locktite and replace the window and you're golden!

Good luck

That sounds like something I'm definitely interested in. Not that experienced with DIY lasers though, any chance you have some instructions handy so I don't unintentionally mess up my new laser?

unscrew the crown and look inside, you will see a threaded aluminum cylinder with the lens mounted in a brass bezel inside it. there will be 2 small holes in the rim of the aluminum cylinder. use a spanning wrench or pair of ring pliers to put into the holes and unscrew that aluminum cylinder.

Next just use a cotton swab to press in the window on the crowns aperture and it will just come right out, its just stuck to the silicone ring to make it water tight there is nothing holding it in but friction.

replace the aluminum cylinder and screw the crown back onto the laser and tighten it all the way down

now if you look at the brass bezel inside the window of the crown you will see 2 holes just like were on the aluminum cylinder. Using a straight pin or a push pin you should be able to rotate that lens/bezel counterclockwise until you get it focused to where you want it.

Once that is done just take out the aluminum cylinder and replace the window and put it all back together.

Ill try to make a tutorial video when I get home from work in a little over an hour.

Cheers!

I'm currently trying to brainstorm how to make the clicky switch a little taller so its not so dang hard to turn on and off...

Sounds doable, only part I'm wary about is how to find where I want it while it's taken apart... unless you have any suggestions, I suppose I'll just find the furthest away thing I can and make the dot as small as possible. Video still sounds great though, thanks.

That's the hardest part, it's all doing it by eye. You just have to make little adjustments until it looks just right.
