Has anyone ever dealt with Ophir? How does their customer service and quality of their laser power meters compare with Coherent? Any input would be much appreciated. I'm trying to make a decision as to which company to purchase from. Thanks, Bill

coherent seems to be a much bigger name but i think as far as quality theyre about the same...not sure though.

OEM Laser Systems uses Ophir. We use their USBI products allowing our computers to be the meters. They are nice little systems, work well, and the company is pretty easy to deal with. You can talk to someone very quickly and get quotes etc. If you have any technical questions their regional sales engineer will call you if you want.

Yeah, I felt really comfortable speaking with them. I'm glad to hear that you are happy with their meters. That makes the decision much easier were I to buy from them. I looked at the USBI and it just needs a dedicated laptop to make a superb meter. I was actually looking at the Vega and was impressed with it's capabilities. Thanks, Bill

Save yourself a BIG pile of cash & get a LASERBEE I DELUXE with DATA LOGGING. Priced at under $300.00 USD.  See J.BAUER ELECTRONICS for more info. Jerry, the owner is a GREAT guy to do business with. He's VERY helpful & KIND ;)

The Laserbee and true professional laser meters are in completely different classes and are intended for completely different uses.

That's very true, but although he just asked the choice between the two big names, he didn't specify WHAT he was going to use it for, right ?
