I just purchased my first green laser and it is on it's way now.
It has an operating temperature of 15°C to 30°C ( 59F- 86F )
My question is why? I understand the diode can heat up and deform or break due to overheating but why is there a low temperature range as well? If we need to duty cycle a laser in order for it to be kept cool, why do cold temperatures matter? Is it not better for it to be cold than too hot? How does it effect the beam? Thanks for the info.
