I am planning on machining a couple of heatsinks where the diode will be pressed directly into the heatsink, however before I do so, I was wondering if the lens people use here for the 5.6MM can diodes are pretty much all the same (M9 thread that is).
Im relying on the len's messurements from the O-like modules, as I will more then likely end up using the same dimentions for the lens insert and the len's housing itself. (although the heatsink is 1.5" wide).
Here is the O-like lens for referance:

Are these thread size and lens housing compatible with most/all lenses around the forum? (Aixiz, etc). (that is, when I thread the hole for the lens to go in, will one size fit all?)
