so your telling me i can get a laser from a blu ray disk

hook it up to micro-drive or make my own(no likely no steady enough)

put it in a flash light

and bam a heat laser

i been reading and trying to grasp this but really thats all i been seeing diode + micro drive + flash light = 405nm heat laser for under 50 bucks

Not from a blu-ray disk, but from a blu-ray burner drive. Read the stickies in the tutorials board for how to do it.

Yeah, that's like powering an LED with mains 120V. I suppose it'll work, but the driver will be very inefficient.

First of all, this is the worst title for a thread ever. Secondly, no, as Mark said you need a bluray burner OR an xbox360 PHR-803T diode. The latter would be much cheaper, though a bit less powerful.

If it will make you feel more comfortable, I can turn the power down on one of my builds to 60mW and charge you $2,000.00. I'll even throw in a case for it ;)

Peace,

So... You must be the genius behind the Sonar, huh? ;D

And what do you mean by "heat laser" ? :-? No it's not a heat laser. It's a "light laser" ::)

The closest thing to a heat laser would be a CO[sub]2[/sub] and even then it's still light ::)
