Odicforce 1W 445 Blue Unboxing Video!

Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong thread :(

My bad guys I'm sorry, please forgive me it won't happen again!

There is no useful information in an unboxing video. Why not do a review instead?

As I said I will do a review and post beam shots etc..

Just thought I would share a unboxing because I could not find any of the same laser.

Thanks for the reply :)

Not a bad video but the music was wrong, it made it seem like acquiring that laser was a religious or spiritual experience. It looks like a great laser, looks high quality from the video. Be careful clicking the tail cap switch on and off, there is a safety hazard most people don't think about, when you first put batteries in and screw the cap on you don't know if its on or off. I have the exact same charger for 16340 batteries only, you can see it in one of the links in my sig, I don't use it much now, I have since bought a better one that charges most sizes. Have fun with your new laser and I look forward to the review.

Alan

Thank you Alan, I won't be using the included charger as I don't trust it..

I've got an XTAR VP1 on oder from eBay which should be here this week.

I also purchased two Efest IMR 16340's as I'm using some old UntraFire batteries that have been standing for over a year...

As for the music I understand, I should of taken a little more time on picking a better music track in editing (know next time)

Thanks again sir!

I understand the unboxing videos and pictures. Just showing the first moments of receiving it and the payoff of all the anticipation of waiting for it. Doesn't bother me at all. Haven't seen this one before. Looks like a nice piece. Do you have anything to compare it to that could be used to judge the estimated power? Assuming that you don't have an lpm.

Hi, thanks for your comment.
If you check my sig I made a few other video of my 200mW 460nm Blue laser module that I put into a project box running from two 16340 and one 18650 batteries (Just to test see if it would power it) So I could test the beam outside, and it does.. take note that the module is 12v I got around 11 volts using the above batteries. I wanted to experiment so call me crazy if you must :san:

But the 1w Odicforce blue makes this 200mW module look something like a 50mW side by side (I'm sure you know what I mean kind of) burning power is just crazy on the 1w I can light matches the hard way (from the stick) using the 1w... Which is expected, Odicforce always test before dispatch and I believe it's over 1 watt which is what Jon told me when he tested it. From what I can see it's very stable seems to hold it's power if left on a few mins. I will do a review as best I can so you guys can see it for your self - and judge it from that, I know some of you have a lot of experience with lasers.. hopefully beam shots and burning videos that I'm about to make will show.

As soon as my decent batteries and charger get here. I will take beam shots and make a few burning videos - so we can see what it can do :D

Hey guys, just a little update (Still waiting for my new batteries and charger to arrive)

After focusing 3-4 inches away from the paper, I tried to see if I could burn a4 paper into flames, and it did just that within 25 -30 seconds (it was my first time trying with focusing)

As you can see from the new video I put up tonight.

See the video below:

1 Watt 445 Blue Hand Held Laser Pointer - Lights A4 Paper - YouTube

I can't test the lasers power yet until I get a Laser Power Meter.

Now one thing I want to ask you guys who know more..

From the laser lighting a4 paper into flames within 25-30 seconds, what mW is needed would normally do this?

I also tested it with 2 red scented candles it also lights them that took about the same time. (Using my hand to hold the candle as still as I could lol)

So hard to tell without a meter. Is a4 paper just white paper?

Hi T, thanks for the reply.

Yeah I understand it's hard to tell, but I just wanted a guess.

Yes standard a4 paper folded over... I didn't expect it to happen that quick to be honest.

Here is a link to the paper https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a4+paper&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=uMqCUvvSCZSM7Abi64GQDQ&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1360&bih=638#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=q47mOC49AE5ixM%3A%3BW5-gRwdHeA2FkM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.paulschou.com%252Fa4%252Fpentagon%252Fpent056.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.paulschou.com%252Fa4%252Fpentagon%252F%3B640%3B480

Well if its burning white paper at all you have some power on your hands. I would say anywhere around 1w would be a pretty safe guess. The closest thing I have to that power is a pen and I can get a full burn on white paper in less then 15sec with 1275mw focused very small. I dont really want to run it longer for duty cycle reasons. The problem with white paper is the spot is so bright you can't really get a good focus on the surface.

Sounds good, and thank you for taking time to answer as best you could.

It may of lit the paper quicker, but as soon as I put the glasses on - it's a little harder to see where I was... just lots of light reflecting off the white background in front of me :D

Thanks again

A better judge is how long it takes to just go through it. My 1.2w makes a black hole in 1second. It was focused much smaller this time. I aimed it at a darker object I could determine focus on, then moved to the paper.

Starting the flame is a bad judge because there us to many variables. Are you hitting the char mark, are you moving it too much. Well it's all a bad judge but just making it through would be better then starting fire.

Just be aware, and I'm sure you are, without a meter, it's a guess at best. And a vague one at that.
