o-like shipping times???

I didn't want to start a new thread for it but I wanted people to see this. I've had several problems with my 500mw 532 crown upgraded. First the solder on the charger was horrible and I had to fix it. After the laser working fine for maybe 20 mins of use It started flickering. Opened the laser up and there's another bad solder. I was refunded 3 whole dollars for the charger. Right now my problems are fixed at my time and expense. I was not willing to wait for the long shipping time back to Singapore or the cost of shipping either. Susie has been extremely willing to help and very good about keeping in touch with me and helping in any way. I will say that I am disappointed in the product but o'like's customer service has been top notch. And I too used ems for shipping and had no problems getting my laser in a timely manner

Just to let y'all know, the 500mw Firedragon I mentioned above...the last group buy RHD arranged with Lasersman AKA Dino Direct...well that has turned out to be a total dog with fleas...there are some of us who ordered the 500mw and they came in way under spec and malfunctioning (loose connections, cross threaded end caps, non-TEM00)...the customer service has been horrible and they are not following their stated policies on their website. I have had to, along with others, file a fraud dispute with my credit card company over this...so, please beware Dino Direct and Lasersman...if you get a good laser from them then great, if you don't you'll wish you never ordered from them...they are on my blacklist now...refer to the GB thread by RHD for the 250, 300, and 500mw Firedragon...it's been staying around the top of the GB post due to all the complaints being written there...
I think I am done with Chinese laser companies....too much hassle and really not as cool as what I can build for a third the price in a 445....

It seems like you really get what you pay for when it comes to ordering from any Chinese manufacture. Anyone thinking that something might be a good deal needs to take a step back and ask themselves wether it's a good deal or a cheaper product. I learned my lesson the hard way and from now on I will be parting out my lasers to build myself or ordering from reputable companies that test there product before shipping. If that's not the case I think the extra money in having a company here in the us would really help as far as problems you might come up with. For instance if I wanted to ship my laser back to Singapore under olike's warranty it would cost me nearly 70 dollars. And who knows how long te return time would be. Just take caution is what I'm saying. I would hate for anyone in our community to have to deal with the problems I dealt with. Especially someone new to lasers.

Its a fair statement....and from one that's very new to the laser culture...a stark reality check. I jumped into this genre with both feet firmly planted in quick-sand. Learned my lesson the hard way with the purchase of a questionable unit.

I've since purchased an LPM from the god-like Laserbee (2.5W USB...shameless advertising), and learned quite a bit over the last 24 hours from the lasers I have.

My O-like is what I expected. Not sure why the waterproof hosts have not caught on for new builds, but they have very limited interest, from what I can see from selection. That being said. My interest has now turned from the WP host, to those Maglite monsters. Eager to try to make one now.

The aren't truly waterproof by any means... at best you can consider them weatherproof, and as such... mostly a gimmick.

Also most of those hosts are relatively small, and the heatsinks in the chinese versions are always small... and brass.

That's a good point. In fact, I need to be careful with throwing around the waterproof term.

As you correctly point out, weatherproof is more of the standard (if there is one), but that is what my interest is. Although I like the occasional scuba dive, I have no intent or need to bring along a laser.

I just ordered about a dozen lasers from them (a lot of $10 reds, but a few ~$75 blues and some goggles - total order about $400. I'll report how it goes.

Last order I got in from O-like was here in 13 calender days. The order before that was here in about 30. It's all luck.
