Thats what I´m aware off. Noone can give me a 100% proof, but if you say yours is still putting ot 450mW that sounds good. There is just one point. When did you buy yours recently, or a while ago where o-like still had a good reputation?

It´s also good o-like takes returns/exchanges but not that good someone who bought an item has to pay for shipping it back. When for example a laser is underspec or its power is decreasing, its a faulty item not doing what the contract between the buyer and the company was meant for. Therefore the company should refund the costs for shipping it back. It´s their fault in this case and therefore they should care the costs.

Or let me explain this in an example. I´m selling used PC parts on e-Bay. Every part is checked before it´s offered so I know what I´m selling and everything is working 100%. So far there was just one guy who claimed to get an defective item, though I knew it was working like it should. I direktly offered him a refund or a replacement (even not expecting him to send it back, but if at my costs). My lost, but a satisfited buyer who will come back. Later it turned out to be incompatible with his mainboard and he was really happy for my assistance and the offer for a refund or a replacement i gave him.

I have ordered a few lasers from O-like in the passed
I have never had a problem with any of the lasers
but all there chargers and even a few of the 18650's
are very cheap ,I've never had to send one back I
just use my other chargers and batteries
I'm more upset with O-like for the way things went down
after placing the order on the 23rd of june i sent a email on
2011/7/15 asking when my order would be sent ,Susie replied on the 19th,

I then sent back a email saying just to cancle my order and refund my paypal account ,but have not heard back from susie(O-like)yet
will update when i hear what there going to do

Shipping from them to me via ems was $22 and took two weeks anyway, regular airmail would have been $8.

Shipping from me to them was $34.90, via EMS. It was with tracking, but I didn't insure it or anything - I don't know if priority is insured automatically or not...

So minimum cost of getting the laser and sending it back, on shipping imo is $42.90.
 
I bought one about 10 days ago and I just got my conf email stating it has been shipped. I am sure it will be the old style though I can deal with that provided it works close to spec and has no issues, we shall see.

And there it says 93 units in stock of the new torch an just 10 units of the older one... so there is really something going wrong with o-like these days and I can understand your disappointment.
 
i was gonna buy the new crown 400mw aswell, ill guess ill just stay put with my old 400mw green from o-like, i reckon if i did order the new crown they would probably send me the old one anyways, plus i had to wait over one month for the laser to arrive to the uk.
 
Dino has some anniversary sale on with greenie's an other things... also any thing over 80$ you get 60-100$ in free coupon... I'm just briefly looking at this but here is a link. Check out the Firedragon Certified power lasers... hmm

Well paul since you're stuck with a delima on a greeny, and your last post said $214, I'd say for out the extra cash and try to get into one of the GB's at least then you'll know you're getting a good laser.

Nope, looking for my first greenie.. but don't wanna get screwed over.

As mentioned I ordered a spartan from DL, its in the mail.. but I really want a nice green and red too.
Possibly a nice 12x also.

You're better of finding a red here on the forum...

As for the green, depends on your budget. optotronics lasers are very good, and the support is the best.
 
Geez, I just today caught wind of the 4W 445 diodes and the Green diodes coming out ... I really hope they are green diodes cuz I wouldn't mind having one ;)

You are aware the 4W stuff is fake, correct? Green diodes however do exist and we'll likely start seeing devices with them start showing up around the end of this year. However don't expect them to be high powered.
 
Like qumefox said. But even if the 4W would be true, you shouldn´t expect it to be just 4 times more expencive than the 1W diode. Just take a look what a 500mW 808nm diode costs and how much you pay for a 1W 808nm diode. It´s not you get a 1W for the prise of two 500mW. The same you can expect with the low powered green diodes against green DPSS greenies.
