I am interested in purchasing a 200mw laser but dont know where to bye from.

O-like
New Style red laser 200mW /adjustable [OLNRL200] - $45.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Hear they are good, susie is helpful. Laser comes with rechargbke batteries, but i have to pay for shipping (i think $26) so puts the price at about $70. If seized by customs, only offer 50% refund. No reviews for that particular laser on site.

Lazerer:
LZCS - 650nm 200mW Focusable Red Laser Pointer
Seems like high quality lasers. Usually overspec. They dont offer any refund or replacement if seized by customs. Shipping is $5 and doesnt come with batteries.

Budgetgadgets:
$41.06 HLP18130 Focusable Burning Red Laser Pointer 200mW - BudgetGadgets.com
Many reviews on the site. Free shipping and recharable batteries for only $4 extra. I think what they are trting to say is that if customs returns it to them, they wil refund it? This is what it said in the email
Thanks for your interest in our product.

Per our experience, the United States Customs normally will not seize the laser.

If unluckily seized, we will refund to you after your return the package to us.

I am not sure who to buy from, any help would be appreciated! I live in the United States. BTW: on budgetgadgets it says "Package" as an extra option, what EXACTLY does this mean?

In my honest opinion, you would be best off purchasing from O-like. They have an above average standard on their lasers and I've never heard of customs confiscating from O-like. Lazerer has been a good company in the past, but recently I've been hearing of quite a few mishaps and poor ratings on reviews, so you might be in for a hard time with them. Budgetgadgets I have no experience with so I can't really say whether they are good or bad, but my suggestion would still be o-like.

thanks for the input! but is the shipping really $26 or am i just reading it wronG? lol

That's china shipping for you. But at least it comes with batteries and their charger! Saving a little for you. Before you actually make any purchases I would wait a good 24 hours from now. My input may be wrong for some reason and allowing other forum members to give their suggestions will help you.

I'd also advise you to go with O-like, I've only had good experiences from doing business with them and I'd reccomend them anytime.

I don't believe shipping is $26, I had to pay $8 for the shipping of my 400mW green laser.
For $26 you get fast DHL shipping or something I think.

Besides, even if shipping is $26 extra (Which I don't believe so), you still get batteries and charger with it, so that's rather nice, compared to other options where you have to buy it seperately/additionally and it may, or may not arrive at the same time as your laser (which can be frustrating).

You are wrong, the 26$ is for DHL shipping.
I bought 400mw 405nm from them and the shipping cost was about 6$.

In my opinion O-like are better than the other sites you have mentioned.

Note: If you do use DHL (I did - i'm impatient :D ), the batteries and charger will be shipped seperately.

Ok, so o-like it is. How Long did it take for you guys in the us to get your laser without dhl? Also, is there tax?

no Tax and i used EMS shipping it took about 1 and a half weeks to get to me. EMS is a little slower then DHL by maby 2 to 4 days however EMS will ship batteries and charger with it. You can check out My http://laserpointerforums.com/f41/o-like-com-personal-experience-73814.html . On O-Likes website they say standard Airmail takes about 15-25 Business days and there is also a Thread about shipping times Here ---> http://laserpointerforums.com/f41/shipping-timelines-companies-regions-71885.html

If you use cheapest shipping, it'll get to you within 2 weeks. Shipping upgrade is not worth it, in my opinion.

I had a module arrive in 1 and half week with cheapest shipping.

Oh that's good to know that will save me some money next time :thanks:

Available Shipping Methods Rates
Zone Rates (Shipping to IL) $7.00
DHL Rates (Shipping to US) $26.00
EMS Rates (Shipping to US) $26.00

EMS is also $26 -__- What is "zone rates"?

Zone rates is standard shipping for international orders. It's like the US "First Class Shipping". It's just the standard with no sped up processing or whatnot. Oh, and if you are going to order a high powered laser please order goggles as well. The goggles O-like sells are absolute TRASH, so don't get those, but find a nice pair please.

For what, 200mW 650nm?

To this day I am yet to see in person (let alone own) a pair of glasses protecting from red lasers.

As I always say. Goggles won't save the eyes of those around you. It won't even save yourself.

Only your common sense and responsibility can do that. Act like an adult with those lasers and you'll be fine. If you're not careful and responsible, you might as well have 100 pairs of goggles, you're still gonna get your dumb ass blind anyway, if not somebody else's sooner (which is far greater risk than blinding yourself!).

Always be mindful of those around you. You cannot afford that many pairs of goggles, and you don't need to.

is there a higher chance us customs will seize my laser using zone rates compared to dhl or ems? and yeah, will do.
