Hi Jordan,
Thats funny thats why i replied that it looks like they mixed the two compounds unevenly,. I looks flaky not smooth or they used some other means of setting the driver.

Hey guys I think I figured out your problems with the swirly blue dot from your lasers. I tried cleaning my G-2 lens with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip and I got the exact same result you were getting in that video of the swirly display. So I brought my laser into work where we have a dust free environment, spectroscopy grade solvents and cleaning materials. All I had to do was squirt some spectroscopy grade (99.99%) methanol on both sides of the lens with some force to knock out debris. Then I hit both sides of the lens with some grade A compressed air to completely dry it out. I repeated this procedure three times and now the display is CRYSTAL CLEAR:beer: I'm pretty sure the isopropyl alcohol has oil in it which is what was being left as residue on your lens

We will find out soon as its been sent out to Lifetime but if you look at the pic's from Calikirk it seems the damage is on the diode window itself and what ever debris has already been baked in.
Hydro, its good to know of the just about pure methanol working on the lens though

Little update, repeating what GSS said, the laser has been sent off to Lifetime for testing, I've got my fingers crossed!!

I'm very curious as to the what the damage is to either the diode or driver. The diode window without a doubt is damaged, but is the die damaged as well?

Also whats interesting is right after the diodes output changed to a blob, even after giving the laser a long cool down, the laser would laser for 1-3 seconds before abruptly shutting down. Is that a driver only issue or from the diode/driver in junction. The dimming/shutting down after 1-3 seconds only started after the diode window fried.

Hi no problem I will see tomorrow when I get the package . Hopefully it won't be as bad as it sounds . At least I'm all for the diode de canning will do the job but who knows if the Imm emitters are shot from the window failing . Let's wish for the best I can't say to much about the driver but that's no biggie compared to the diode

I'd like to also say I extremely appreciate all the help to everyone involved! Im not the smartest when it comes to building lasers and without the help from this forum, id have a bunch of expensive components and hosts in a mess on a table somewhere.

Zach- thanks man, it has been a real pleasure to deal with you, from start to finish! With all the recent bad deals that have been going on throughout the forums, its refreshing knowing that there are still honest people out there that care about others, not just out for themselves monetarily.
