[noob] Is this legit? [/noob]

and klogith, thats why im getting a 50 mw laser and the 200mw IR. From what i read 100 and up is where your eyes are pretty much fucked, so even though a 50mw could reflect in my eyes accidentally the chances of damage are less likely ( but still there ) All I'd like to know is what kind of glasses I'm going to need. I'm not worried on the price

..You should just stay away form lasers until you learn to listen to the veterans. You obviously haven't read much if you think its >100mW that will fuck you up
. Above 5 mW, your eyes don't blink fast enough to prevent permanent damage, and even "5mW" laser pointers are not guaranteed to be in spec. Listen to the experts, and read more.

Also, burning things up close with a "50mW" (which could be 70mW for all you know) without goggles will probably cause you eye damage pretty quickly just from the light bouncing from the material you're burning.

I hope you realize how old this thread is... Also incase you didnt read my other posts i was asking about glasses too..

I already purchased a 50mw, a 100mw (both green/532nm) and a pair of 532nm and IR filtering protective glasses.. totalling about $75

ROFL It's Not That Old...

Where did you get your goggles? You don't see the beam as Green anymore right? If you don't own a LPM To Test Them, The best way to test your goggles is if you can see any of the beams Color through them, there No Good. If the Lasers are Both 532 nm then you should see not a spec of Green Light. It Should most likely look Orange or Red. And the Beam you would not Be able to see at all, just the dot.
