Are ALL Nintendo Gamecube games compatible with the Nintendo Wii console game ?? I wanna buy some Gamecube games - my Wii is NOT modified in any way....nor do I have plans on doing any mods until the warranty runs out :P Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated !
 





yes, as far as I know *ALL* gamecube games are compatible... though I believe you need gamecube controllers and memory cards.

Where would the memory card go ? Does it go in the controller ? (noob)
 
no, the top of the wii is actually a lid that you can lift up, and underneath there's spots for gamecube controllers and memory cards.

my friend had his wii for two months without knowing that.. it's pretty well hidden.. he was actually about to buy another gamecube since his old one broke.. boy was he ever happy to learn that he didn't have to!
 
memory cards can go in the front and that works too. He is correct. ANY gamecube game will work for Wii. you do need gamecube controllers though.
 
SWEET ! The Gamecube controllers are those kidney shaped ones, right ? They plug into the Wii-mote ? If so, I think I have one already that we got for the super smash thing... I am such a total noob with Nintendo, but the wifey wants to try some Gamecube games she has seen - so thanks for the info, all ! Is the Memory card a standard SD card, or is it proprietary ?
 
you can plug in original gamecube controllers to the top as well as gamecube memory cards, not sure if the classic controller works with gamecube games but it might

The classic controller does NOT work with gamecube games. It only works on a few Wii games and on most Virtual Console games.
