Good question. In terms of size I can't see them being very unique, at the same time, no idea if you can order just the caps somewhere separately.

I'm wondering if this is a thin stamped cap that fits over the rubber cap, or it is something else.

I'll take a look at it a bit more when I get home... Lazeerer or Jayrob would probably have a better idea though.

Yes, I'm considering selling the two longer heatsinks separately.

From the photo it appears that I would need to see a dissected view to understand how the switch cover is made.

Excellent idea, love the RL-118 host, stainless clicky on the new Survival host would be a great touch as well
I foresee many folks picking this one up for a new build

BTW the new heat sink will fit a C6, it just sticks out quite a bit, and you can see the set screw hole:
