yea its a clicky kind, so i always don't have to hold it lol and it has a nice feel to it not to heavy and not to lite

Hello, just wondering, has anyone tried the red and the violet running together on the ps3 BR's? I smoked two diodes testing out some different drivers. So the diodes were still emiting 5mw and figured id give it a try. When the 405 is powered and you add power to the 650 lead, the blu shuts off and the red lights? But they will not run together, this applies to both diodes I tried. Mind you, I didnt try different power supplies and that could be why. Have you tried this one?

cheers.

Yes, I did it though not recommended because of heat disapation. The dies are stacked and heat from one transfers to the others.

Anyway, I ran the red and blu just above threshold and found that you can't focus both at the same time- Blu dot/ red blob. You may have noticed that the sled has a stepper driven focus housing. That's why.
If you try it, keep the current and duty cycle limited. It didn't hurt mine but a neat experiment.

Thats nice and clean. You should try it in the meredith glass housing/ dx housing. It has a nice top on it for twisting.

well im thinking on making more, i have 4 to 6 br diodes and now to open cans, so ill have the same housing but with diffrent diodes in them all. and ill buy a few meredith glass lens :)

Nice job with that jake21! That SS barrel looks pretty sweet. I can't tell from the pictures how the heatsink is attached. Is it glued? I take it that there is not enough room inside to adjust the module farther in...
Jay

its glued for now lol the heatsink is perfect, i need to get setscrews to hold it in place :)

That looks awesome! :D It could use an aperture cap though, I mean a low powered blu-ray doesn't need focusing that often anyway, and it'll make it look smoother. :P

ill add more things to it, or on my next project i will use the same host but with a open can in it :)
