New Host Build (Parts Needed)

Hello everyone,

I ordered a host from Sinner (not sure if he's still on here) around years 5-7 ago and I had planned on building a 3W laser with the host. I was very young back then and got a little intimidated haha, so I'm back to do it again.

I need parts! I will need,
A 9mm diode and driver (this was the last "best" diode for the host back in 2015 ish).
A battery contact board.
A battery sleeve (host is pretty wide).
Batteries that can supplement that amount of current. Last I was recommended 18350 high-drain batteries from a notable company.

Any recommendations from product providers and/or people willing to sort of "take part" in this build would be fantastic. I will happily post images of the host if that would help.

Best,
-Bristol

by 'contact board' do you actually mean 'driver'?
To avoid loss of $$$ just match up a driver /diode- already set to best current- and made to fit in your Sinner. --no soldering.. no dummy load.. no death by static (pretty much) DTR is where you go. These parts do NOT come w/ instructions and ATM DTR is off forum but his store is still open.
His friend is filling orders & shipping but may not be able to help much otherwise.

Thank you for your responses.

Great recommendations! Honestly, it would be a little fun to be more "involved" with the build than just popping in the pill... but I haven't made up my mind on which one I'll go for yet. I have soldered and tested a previous driver, but I know it's risky for the inexperienced.

As for the battery contact board, let me share the images of the host with you. There's a plastic piece that you can see that fits in where a driver could sit to seal it off, but I honestly don't know enough about battery contact boards to know if it'd work to wire it to the center and to the other edge. Would love to learn if you have any advice!

As for the driver, there are multiple options on DTR's site. What do I select as my desired current? Do I want a Super X driver, or an ACS45?

Thanks in advance,
-Bristol

Hi,
The NDB7475 diode paired with a SXD driver set at 2.4A will give you your 3+W's of power with a G2 lens. The driver being set over 1.8A will need tone thermally epoxied to the aluminum pill for cooling the IC. And you will need Arctic Alumina thermal compound on the 12mm module before setting it in the host. Note do not use thermal epoxy on the 12mm module , use the compound.F3F61822-D401-460B-BA4D-B5F246FB0EAE_1_105_c.jpeg14594CA2-7BD9-4B3F-9DAF-92E357B7EACD_1_105_c.jpeg

Thank you for the advice! What's the difference between the G2 and the G8 lens?
Also, on the images I posted above, could the plastic piece with the nut in the middle work as a battery contact board? Still confused on the normal setup for that.

Thanks!
