this is my new laser
It used 4.5A astralist driver with NUBM08 diode:

Good looking host/laser, thanhtung!
The brass switch button is a nice touch, I also like the heavy, thick walled battery tube.

I'm also curious about the laser diode in this one. The driver sure looks like it could be one of astralist's, but there is a heat sink on the top of the board making it difficult to see what is there. I have several of astralist's drivers made over the past year or so. Is the module brass or copper? Brass has far less thermal conductivity than copper even though it is mainly a copper alloy.

It's hard to tell with differing camera settings, but I'm guessing that the diode/driver module looks like it's made of brass, since it's the same color as the threaded battery board retainer, which are usually made of brass, and the gold plated spring.

Curious about the diode also?

Hi every one!
It is exactly Atraslist’s driver 4.5A with diode NUBM08
Because the driver too hot when run, so i put on inductor a heatsink!

I like this build concept. You could probably incorporate a little 15mm fan in there to blow across that inductor HS :)

Thanks! Maybe i will do like you said in my next build! But like that so it need holes to fan blow air outside

When you list a laser like this with your business card, all I can assume is this is a for sale thread. I moved it into the BST section, if you are not selling this or taking orders for one like it, please let me know.

Oh, i do as that for cause before have someone stole my pics!
And all one if want to order for one like it ,so can send to me a message!
Thanks for your note

Makes me wonder if your getting a good deal on brass or it's just easier machining but after putting all that nice effort and work into these hosts and considering this is a NUM08 it's kinda of discouraging. Noticed a few of your builds.
Why aren't you using copper in just about the most important part of the host?:undecided:

At 4.5 amps that thing is getting pretty hot. I do wonder about the materials used and the smallish diameter. I wonder how hot it gets in a couple minutes of run time.

Oh, if at this host duty cycle about 60s but cause the driver too hot so about 30s it is auto strobe for warning much heat on driver!
My feel if use Xdriver will not be like that

I like the design, you can always make more like it with a thicker body for high output LD's and a longer duty cycle.
