New flashlight for DIY

are there any torches on dx that are suitable for this kinda project?

No the flashlight is not available on target.com. I've also looked for the mini dorcy on target.com You will have to make a trip down to target and purchase one or I can ship you one.
There are lots of threads on cpf and lpf concerning flashlights that are available from DX. The main problem with purchasing a flashlight from DX is the driver circuits inside them are unknown as are how the flashlight is assembled. Sometimes it is impossible to modify the way a flashlight is put together to make it work for a Laser host. Secondly if the driver circuit is not suitable you will end up having to get another driver circuit either made of purchased seperatley. I know we are trying to save money in these ventures of trying to build our own lasers but SOMETIMES it's better to buy what works.
