new diode 2,1 w-G85

Any chance you have a link to the new diode? Thanks :)

m1562gB5

2.8 volts at 2.4 amps

Could be easily pushed to 3 watts output, but is this a 2 die diode?

I don't think this is a new diode. We've known about the 2-3 die diodes for a bit now. I have the tribeam running at 2.6W iirc

Edit: Scratch that, I cut it down to 1.8W

I wonder if its possible to block the output of one emitter?
would really love to have a 2-3 watt red diode

I have a 4W 660nm:D
Wellll... I haven't tested it yet, so hopefully it works.

Either way I think the best chance you'd have would be collimating or combining cubes.

Everyone is correct. That diode is old news.

The most current data sheet is dated 27 September 2016 however a version was available in limited quamtites for testing as far back as February 2015.

It was reviewed and discussed several times on LPF since then --- was not of much interested because of the two emitters.
Podo did a review of it back in early 2015 when it was called a G84 here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/madness-mitsubishi-639nm-3w-twin-buster-updated-output-test-92332.html

The Mitsubishi official marketing press release was not done until December 2016 see .pdf here: http://emea.mitsubishielectric.com/en/news-events/releases/2016/1214-a/pdf/161214-a_3075_en_g.pdf
