i decided to build my own pen laser, so i started with a piece of raw aluminum rod and machined it down to 14mm in diameter, then bored for the battery, and aixiz head. then machined out a tail cap for it. *there is a lip inside of the barrel for the battery stop. then started the assembly. i used a PHT-803T diode and a rckstr driver set @ 90mA (soldered the diode - and GND together to make the diode case groun). i used the switch from an old green laser driver () cut to size and all components removed. wired the BATT+ of the driver to one side of the switch and a small spring to the other side of the switch. then insulated the bottom of the switch PCB with a piece of foam hot-glued.
Next, i put some artic silver 5 to fill in the micro gaps for thermal transfer to the host. dropped in the switch to mark the location for the momentary switch to be drilled, and made the hole to size. after test fit comes final placement. i reused a brass apterature cap from another old green pen laser to finish it off, after a light sanding, cleaning with acetone, and some black rattle-can enamel paint. here are the pix...
Iv'e got the drawings of the host if anyone wants to make their own just PM me or ill post it for everyone to use if you like it.
let me know your opinion. * [smiley=beer.gif]Thanks [smiley=beer.gif]
