New 5mw green laser (question)

well i live in the netherlands and not USA so i can't or i don't know about what is legal to own in the USA , as what i do know most laser lovers who live in the USA do have more then 5 mW of powr

You guys are missing one thing. The fact is that it is highly unlikely you will receive a genuine 5mW laser. The bulk of these cheap Chinese pens are anywhere from 15mW to 40mW. You actually have to spend a good amount of money to receive a true 5mW laser. The reason is that they bin these, like PC chips. To get a metered laser cost more. So in reality you should have no problem seeing the beam in most cases.

I like your answer, im just going to hope for the best. (sense i already payed for mine) And im not so much a lover as i am a wonderer, i have never bought or made a laser more then a 5mw .99cent red laser pen so i thank you all for the answers/opinions.

The downside is if its 20mW or over it can do some eye damage. So beware of reflections, and dont point it at people or animals.

@ Tech_Junkie i do know that what you said, it's all a massproducktion and i am not really a laser pointer guy i bought a few from DX dilda's and 1 O-llike

rest is all diodes self made stuff , i just want to give the person in question a answer

and ofcource i hope he will get a solid good working 30mW overspec laser
but yet again another "downside"
is that lol yeah well they probably won't lase long :can:
