New 462 build(ADDED PICS)

So this is my 462 in the great looking W/L replica host!!! Sorry for this not being detailed like others, I'm going off of 1 hour of sleep in the last 2 days lol This is using a 2A driver and the famous m462 diode with a g2 lens! I will add more photos to this tomorrow. I had to get at least half the thread started or I'd never get to it! Hope y'all Enjoy folks

Hi Apex1,
Nice build 2A driven how is it holding out at that Amperage?
2W M462's are rated for 1.8A if i'm not mistaken for long life.
Great WL I have a Sinner MSS with that diode in it. Again congrats looking good buddy..

Thanks Rich. Yeah I'm aware of the affects at that amperage! I have a few of these diodes so in all honesty I'm not to worried about it dying lol As I've said before, I rarely keep my lasers on for longer then 40 seconds, well depending on the host! This build has great heatsinking. The heatsink is threaded for better heat transfer into the host. I also put a finned heatsink onto the driver

Ok sounds great maybe i'll give 2A's a shot . i even might try it on a PLTB450B Instead of 1.8A.Awesome myself i do not run my builds long either. Again great build buddy..

Damn, you beat me to it, I have all the parts here for my next build (also an M462) I just don't have the time and energy just now, plus I still never posted a thread on my last build. That should put out well over 2W if driven at 2A, DTR's test did 2.335W at 2A. Since these are driven at up to 1.8A. I and probably many others will be interested to see if it holds up at 2A. Turn it on everyday if you can and see if it degrades over time or if it fails eventually.

Do you have an LPM, or are you waiting for the new Radient that hopefully might be here in time for Christmas? :crackup: They don't seem to be in any hurry. It would be interesting to see the power output and then to see if it changes after a few weeks or months.

yeah I'm waiting, but not for much longer! I need to buy one asap I'm giving it one more month. If they aren't for sale by then I will buy one of nospins LPM's And yes I have one but it only reads up to 1watt. My father has a 10w ophir I just don't like driving all that way for him to complain about using his stuff lololol
