Hello everyone, I have a new laser I wanna review and give some credit to laserpointerstore.com
Especially a thank you to Tommy and Emily for keeping me informed on shipping progress.

Ordered March 2nd - 3-2-18
Arrived at my house 3-14-18
12 days from order date. I believe that is actually a very good time considering when I order from Fasttech it usually takes just under a month.
I haven’t gotten a chance to meter the two wavelengths but they are 450nm 80mw and 532nm 50mw my guess is that they’re almost exactly as advertised due to the fact that they’re very bright! I’ll hit them with my Meter soon as I get a chance.
This is now my 5th laser from LPS and they all have arrived in working order. I’m certainly glad we have this store that is very reliable and honest about its lasers. I will most certainly be buying from them more in the near future.

I will add that this Gold 2 in 1 wavelength laser host feels very solid and pretty good quality, didn’t really see any defects, the safety switch in the back actually feel just as solid as a C6 switch. I’ve always had good luck with all my C6s and it’s switches (probably because I haven’t pushed them over 1.8a)
The side switch is an electronic switch that feels good too, it also has a light just under the side switch that turns red as soon as it’s armed through the back switch and turns green when laser is activated.

Glad to hear you are happy with another LPS purchase, Richie. I have one of their lasers too. It was sent to me to review along with diachi when they were first starting up. It still works well and I have no complaints either.

Looks pretty cool... but just wondering: are those beams combined in any way, or just two beams emitted side by side? Couldn't really tell that from the photos.

If you can remove the gratings, it should be obvious if the two beams follow the same axis or not. If they are, it would be a much more impressive build and would pique my interest in how much you paid for it.

Same idea here - if they managed to actually combine the beams in that form factor that would be a very interesting feature.

You’re correct, they’re just side by side. That would actually be pretty cool to see them combined, unfortunately that would probably bring the cost up :/

If you can remove the gratings, it should be obvious if the two beams follow the same axis or not. If they are, it would be a much more impressive build and would pique my interest in how much you paid for it.

They’re just side by side, following the same axis would definitely be neat. I wonder how hard it would be to do that. I also just realized that I posted this under the wrong category, it should have been in the review section. Oops

Indeed - it would be really cool but also a lot more expensive: the added optics themselves add cost, but adjusting the whole thing so the beams actually overlap at any distance isn't that easy either. It might not even be possible to do that if one is DPSS and the other a diode laser.

But I guess it's still a nice two-in-one product in a decent host, and the combining issue is only relevant when you want to use both colors at the same time. Otherwise it looks like a well sized host with ample heatsinking for the output power, refreshing to see.

To align just two beams you could use modules set at 90* apart and use a single dichro to match them up. Or, you could have both modules in the "side by side" configuration as you described and use a FS mirror and a dichro to match them up. Either way, it would require some very tiny adjustment of two single mode diodes to align it well enough to make having one worth while.

Did you guys look at that laser on the LPS web site?
The red + green version is retail $16.90 laser with a <50mW 532nm and a 100mW 650 and the blue + green is <50mW 532nm and a 80mW 450nm which is $12 more.

To do anything but buy a battery for it, is doing too much--makes no sense whatsoever

Best bet/only way to go--enjoy what you have for what it is--it is OK for what it is and costs.

A better choice than tearing apart a perfectly good 2 in 1 laser and buying a bags of parts to combine the beams for most people who want to experiment with combining R,G, and B or any combination of them to make the illusion of other wavelengths/pseudowavelengths/other "colors" would be to get one of the low cost RGB modules enclosed or open for less than $50 including shipping
