Hey that GITD focus ring looks amazing :D

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

I received mine finaly. I don't have batteries so I cannot test the power yet. Batteries are on the way from DX.

Here are my first opinions.
It is packed very well.
Perfect size that fits in my palm.
I only didn't like the focus knob. I like it to flush with the top when focused to infinity. To focus infinity it needs to be unscrewed to much as it feels to fall off.

I'll make a better review when I receive batteries.

Here are some poor photos taken with my phone camera.

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

Very nice pictures guys. I'm glad you all are happy.

@murrat, the focus on the lens is a standard thing. Its actually undesirable by many to have infinity be all the way down as then you cannot focus in for close burning. In infinity the lens is nowhere close to falling out and has a good percentage left inside the threading so don't worry about that.

UPDATE:
My next batch of parts is only a couple days out so I should have another set of lasers by Sunday or Monday. I will be offering both Black Ice and Flash Freeze lasers.

Knowing that good percentage left inside relax me a lot :beer:
I'm still waiting for my batteries so can't make a review yet.:thinking:

I took a little video to show how well these lasers are:

Oh and after burning I took my safety glasses off to look at the after effect :beer:

HAHA very nice. I just wish the res was higher so I could see more but you can definitely tell there is a good amount of smoke coming off whatever you are burning.

UPDATE: I have parts in for four more lasers and I am building them now. I have been too busy the last couple days to complete them just yet but they will be done soon. I am thinking I will do two Flash Freeze and two Black Ice.

What is the output power of the remaining laser?

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

It's a 1.4W. All the info is still on the first post bro.

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

aight, I saw the first post but was hoping for one of your 2.4w

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

The only way to get that high is with a G2 lens. Most of the time in order to hit that the laser needs to be at 2W or a little above on a 3-element lens and that is beyond rare. On average the top lasers end up at about 2-2.2W on a G2.

Hello everyone,

Been watching this foum for quite some time and even purchased and assembled one of Jayrob's hosts with a 405nm diode. This is the first time posting though. I am wondering how it is you determine the optimal power for each of your diodes when you assemble them. I am also quite interested in purchasing one of your lasers, they look awesome! I will PM you when the next batch come out. I am hoping for one of your higher power ones, but as I see in your previous post they are quite rare.

After a little USPS mishap mine has arrive in the mail today... now I just have to survive work and charge the batteries.

Re: New 1.1-2.5W 445nm Flash Freeze/Black Ice Lasers Free US Shipping

@DropZone01
I use a device called an LPM(Laser Power Meter) to measure the exact output on my lasers. Super high output(2W+) lasers are quite rare but it isn't overly uncommon for them to hit 1.8W using a 3-element lens.

@kgb2289
Your batteries should already be charged. I usually(if I remember to :P) charge them up before I send them out so they are ready to use when you get them.
