Hey guys, I'm working on a website for my German Shepherds. I just designed a new layout with some gradients and metallic-looking borders, but our graphics computer (which I designed the stuff on) has an old screen which is dark, and has really good color perception, but I'm afraid it's too dark and not accurate. Our laptop has a really bright screen with poor color rendering, and the gradients on the header and the menu are alot brighter than they're supposed to be (supposed black in the middle to a dark grey on top and bottom, but they get really light, almost white on my laptop) and the borders around the Iron Cross symbol thing and the "Vom Dominus" letters have gradients on them to make them look metallic. It all looked great on our graphics computer, but the site looks washed out on the laptop.

Thoughts?

ps- it's not quite done yet! I just added alot of crap to it lately.

edit- the site might help. http://www.vomdominus.com

I think it looks great... I really can't provide much critique, though. ;D

Thanks! So the letters and whatnot lin the top part look metallic around the edges, and the boxes don't get too light colored for you?

Thanks for the help! Anyone else? :)

I guess I know where we'll be getting our next GSD eh? Our current shepard named Sasha is one of the outcast pups from her litter. She's shilo so not much good for the show circuit but she is awesome for the family. She's our 4th GSD. Our last shepard, Preston, was a monster. He weighed in at 130lbs but was the sweetest animal with the family.

That would be awesome! My dogs aren't nearly that big though... I breed to the Schaeferhund Verein (GSD parent club in Germany) standard, which means our boy is about 85 lbs and our girl is about 60. Our dogs are also working dogs, they have a very different mentality than the American style sheps. These dogs are smart, hyper and have tons of fight and prey drives... that means they like to chase and kill things, and they enjoy making combat. Without proper training and socialization, these working line dogs have the potential to be very, very dangerous dogs. Because of that, I have a very invasive screening system to make sure the pups go to the best homes.

My dogs would be laughed out of the AKC show ring too, but AKC show GSDs are bred to stand a certain way and do an exaggerated trot, they have no purpose other than to be aesthetically pleasing. My dogs are bred to have the sharpest minds and fittest bodies possible, they're bred to work. I won't get into it here, but I truly hate AKC show GSDs and what they've done to my breed.

I'd be happy to consider providing you with a puppy when you're ready, but I want you to know what I produce. My dogs are very different than 90% of the GSD's you'll find Stateside.

When do you think you'd be looking for a pup? My next litter after this one is probably going to be early 2010. I believe in quality over quantity. ;)

quadcam, that is an awesome pic in your signature!! had to mention it
