Need high powered greenie

If it is so poor quality, is it worth buying? Sure this dude sayin' that he has lasers from this, and he is happy, but
how many of them are for usage, and how many for garbadge?
I don't wanna be wasting money on something that will stop working the second day after unpacking, y'all screaming : it's good
anybody sayin' it's not?!

[edit] oh yeah, anybody interested in trading?
c'mon ppl, I've held HP greenie once in my life, for 2 min!
Have mercy! :D
Usually out of 5 cheap dx lasers 1 will be defective/trash, 3 will work perfectly and 1 will have some minor issues. You can always return the defective lasers for a refund so don't worry so much.

If you get a defective item from dx they will usually give you a refund, replacement or store credit. Of course you need to provide proof that the item is defective and pay the return shipping costs which can be quite high sometimes.

The DX and KD lasers are so cheap because they are built in china and the quality is relatively poor, especially compared to a WickedLaser or a CNI, which are built very professionally

There is no way that Dx lasers are as low quality as wickedlasers. At least with DX you know that the likelyhood of getting a slightly underpowered laser is there. Unlike wicked who's quality control is worse.

That's a little harsh. I've seen DX lasers output 100mW when they say 200mW. Or even less, Wicked isn't that bad.

Apart from some of their high powered models being a little underpowered, the lasers are of good quality. Unfairly priced, but it isn't fair to say that the quality of the lasers is worse than DX because that's just so very wrong :)

DX have the worst quality control. I think what you mean is Wicked have the worst quality control per price tag :) Which is true.

I gotta dust off the "slap me" gloves on this one, Kenom ! You haven't even ordered from Wicked before, so I really do not know where you are coming off with this - your choice, I suppose - but generalizing won't help this guy make a choice on a greenie ! Oh, and since I am sure the "nay-sayers" will swoop down on me again (you know who you are, Mr. or Mrs. Naysayer) Kenom and I are pretty good friends, and I STILL challenge him to speak fact, or state it strictly as opinion - so NYAH !

You know you have really good friends when you can argue with them and challenge the things they say and still remain friends. I do that all the time IRL. :)

FROM WHAT I KNOW only: SOME of Wicked's lasers tend to be often underpowered, some models don't.
If you're lucky enough to get a good one, they ARE built well and are quite stylish. But for the price - it's not worth it in my opinion.

ok, now you are really gettin' of the topic.
PLS, read the first post:
trading red and IR diodes for high power greenie,
not lookin' for web site to buy greenie, ok?!
PLease somebody make me an offer

btw, check my review of my DealExtreme $26 50mW green in my signature (and oh, KaiDomain is also one of those good and cheap shops)[/quote]

Whats the difference between the long open can red, and the short open can red?

(Besides the difference in size)

The power. See this image that I've seen popping up in several threads.

Comparisonbetweenshortlong.jpg

Not all of them, Samsung drives have some weird looking diodes. Lite on drives have short open can diodes, pioneer 112D and 115D have long open can diodes as well as some LG drives and an Optiarc drive that used to be sold at newegg but is no longer available.

HEY!! In case you haven't noticed, this is a topic in wich you are supposed to make me an offer for trading your green laser for red and IR kickass diodes, not discussing the 20x long open can diodes from samsung fryers, go make your own topic for this,

I am still waiting for an offer

Was it something I said... typed?
How come everybody suddenly fall silent?

Anyway, pls people I really want a green laser pointer (you don't see many of those in Croatia)
C'mon!!

You'd need a lot of red diodes to equal a greenie since red diodes pop out of cheap DVD players, and green lasers only come specially made (it's nearly impossible to DIY a greenie).

I don't think you have enough diodes for a good greenie, and even if you did I'm not sure anyone would be willing to take it.

Just buy a laser from DX, I don't know why you are resisting it so much :) A true DX 30 is only $25, and has received good reviews on these forums :)

Fine, but that's my last resort :D
I'm kinda short with money, but loaded with powerfull diodes.

Anyway still waiting for an offer, but will buy myself one from DX as soon as I get some money to spend on this things, and when my parents give green light on online buying (which is already as 2Pac arise from grave :D).

[edit] Hold on...
Who said anything about dvd players? I said DVD burners 16x!
