Need an LPM for measuring less than .7mw of 780nm ??

So what is recommended for measuring Class 1 IR laser compliance?
What kind of money can I expect to spend?

An optical LPM would be what you need, check out the Coherent lasercheck, $450
Aixiz has surplus Sper optical power meters, $200

I wouldn't recommend a hobbyist optical LPM, they don't perform very well.

Personally I won't recommend Coherent Laserzcheck. There are several reports of inconsistent and inaccurate readings and possibly corrupted calibration data that was stored in the internal EEPROM. As for the price, sometimes they will show up on Ebay for around $150.

^ I had not heard of that problem, thanks for the heads up. Was thinking about buying one direct from Coherent. Guess I may just get a LM-2 VIS head or an OP-2 VIS head.

HAve to ask the question .7mW ...you wouldn't see it would you and why 780nm just curious so low a power IR is usually quite high .
