Ok for my current project I need a 5v voltage regulator with ~12A worth of power going through it but the current does not need to be limited just the voltage. I also need 12v with ~4A of power and the same thing, only voltage needs to be constant the current it doesn’t matter as long as its above 4A, as theirs a 2nd driver to limit the current. I just need a good constant 5V and 12V with ample amperage : ) .... I plan on using batteries but I am wondering what type of batters to use to get this type of power I am thinking a sealed lead acid battery
12 Volt 14 Ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery: BatteryMart.com
That one is 12V at 14Ah witch I think will be plenty for my needs
Or this one
12 Volt 18 Ah Sealed Lead Acid Battery: BatteryMart.com
12V at 18Ah

Either way I need a constant 12v driver and a constant 5v driver that can handle 4A and 12A respectively any ideas on how to build one and how much such a thing might cost?

Thanks
Michael

after some more research it looks like i need to build a DC to DC converter but i dont know what i need and google isnt helping much but i did find some pre built ones for 30$ apeac

If all you need is 5V@12A max and 12@4A max, a computer PSU should be able to handle that easily. There are mods for converting a PC power supply to a bench PSU, and they are very easily and cheaply done. How to Convert a Computer ATX Power Supply to a Lab Power Supply (with video) - wikiHow

I don't know if this is right, but I'm pretty sure any battery without a huge capacity will not last long at 12A, it might be worth finding on AC/DC mains plug, you can get a lot of varieties and I'm quite sure you'll find one at 5V and around 12A, I'm using a 12V 1.2A one for my argon fan.

Oops.. in my last post I didn't realize you were planning on using batteries.. A compter PSU can't be powered by batts.

yes is Plan on using batteries either 16-20. 18650- for 10 A or, 14 Ah or A SLA... but I just Need a DC to DC converter I know its Going. to be BIG and expensive
