I have a NEBO model 5050 which (like many of their similar items) has a red laser pointer. It travels quite far. I pointed it across a dimly lighted parking lot at night and the dot was smaller than the size of a baseball at >400 feet (they claim it reaches 450 yards). As low output pointers go, it's pretty nifty, and a lot brighter than the small pointers we play with in the conference room.
I'm thinking it would be good to use as a safe means of aligning optics without my glasses before turning my green dude on. The lens end is about the same diameter as my RPL.
I'm curious if anyone might know the output power of these things.
Regards to all,
