NE555 PWM Buck Driver

Your experience is akin to someone saying "I drink and drive sometimes. I haven't gotten into any accidents yet, so it is perfectly safe."

Besides, your "buck driver" isn't even constant voltage to begin with.

My diode have 300mW not 5W.I talk about my experience with constant voltage regulators.I have tested constant current drivers and have and I have not noticed any difference between.I prefer constant voltage because it is simple to make and is more efficiency(no sensing resistors).
And if is so bad constant voltage because any of my laser pointer dont die?I have many of them an no one die from over heating or thermal runway.

good luck regulating the INDEPENDANT variable by changing the DEPENDANT variable in a nonlinear function bro.
 
I have not say you all are wrong with current regulation.I only say that I use constant voltage as driver without any problems.How is see nobody use(dont like) constant voltage.
And that some of you who are opposed to constant voltage try to test constant voltage driver and write your experience.
If I run without problems then the should and you.
 
I wonder...... how many constant current diode drivers are available commercially and how may constant voltage drivers....then I wonder why there are many more CC diode drivers than CV drivers.
