Hi all, I just recently finished upgrading my old 10x 405 to a new BW512 405. I'm pretty impressed with the results:

847mW @ 575mA

Here's my equipment list:

SolarForce L2P host
Jayrob SolaForce heatsink
Aixiz module
405-G-1 lens
Microboost driver
Samsung ICR 18650 battery

I used a LaserBee 2.5W to perform the laser power test.

Nice job! Treat it respectfully though, 800mW+ from a 12X wont last too long even with short duty cycles because you're pushing that diode well past its 'long life' limitations

Well.... Lazeerer reached 1watt with one of those diodes and as far as I know its still running...

If you have a really efficient diode you can run it at higher currents and still maintain the same life expectancy that a normal diode would have at lower currents.

Goodjob on the upgrade :)

+rep (if I can)

^ you are correct, I just share this warning and information from my personal experiences with 12X diodes & high amperage settings

Yeh, you can never be "too" careful with 55 dollar diodes...

I am a little less careful since I can get these things for $52 shipped from Rayfoss... better than the old days of buying a $200 drive :D
