My Real 488nm Sharp Diode Build

i feel kinda stupid asking this but you said the only 473nm you have is a DPSS you pulled from a medical device, what is that particular wavelength used for in the medical field? ive always wanted to know i just didnt know how to ask and this was the perfect oppurtunit. thanks paul :D

It is used to detect carotenoids in people by RAMAN spectroscopy. Before this could give levels by just scanning a persons skin, one would need a blood test and have to wait for results to know.

I certainly love learning new stuff like that, its more than fascinating,
very cool and thanks Paul ;)

Actually. this technology is 20 years old. I makes for some nice 473nm DPSS lasers and some new spectrometers that will hopefully be useful to me one day.

Oh wow, I thought it was relatively new tech  what I wouldn’t do to somehow find a nice cheap 473nm DPSS. I’ll even settle for 3mw

PM Alaskan, he might/might-not of purchased quite a few 473nm units  :D

Alaskan is in Qatar now. I don't know how much help he would be on this now. He did buy up several of these units when everyone else was about a year or more ago.
