This picture is of a host that was stripped with the hard wire brush on a bench grinder, and then sanded to a polish. The knurling is still there a little. The blue anodizing is still barely visible inside the tiny grooves of the knurling, along with the two blue stripes up by the head...
This method was a little quicker and less prone to accidents...
I'm going to try steel wool next for removing the blue anodizing

THAT looks pretty damned sweet, man ! I like the faint cross-hatching design :)
