This is the same host jayrob is using in his kit. I did all of the machining myself, but I probably shouldn't have. It would have looked much better if jayrob would have done it.

Looks like it got scratched up. It's not easy to get that tail cap drilled to the right depth either...

Nice job getting the driver installed! :gj:

Is it a V5 FlexDrive?

I have no idea what the output is. It is set to 800 mA with the aixiz 405 glass lens. I don't have a power meter unfortunately.

Yes it did get scratched. So, I filed it completely so it would kind of match. I plan on making it look a littler nicer soon. I'm learning from my mistakes.

And yes v5.

Nice Job!
Even if someone else can do a better job.....like you said its a learning experience and YOU did it!
Feels good when you switch it on and see that Blue/Red/Green light come out the end:D

I set the one I did very low because of the small Li-Ion battery. (with tail cap mod)

The 10280 battery is only 200mAh's capacity. I have my 445 build set at 275mA's, and I'm getting 78mW's with AixiZ 445 lens. Which should be a fairly even current draw on the battery with less than 4 volts diode demand.

I would estimate probably 45 minutes between charges. The battery can handle constant on at that power. It is well under 2 C current draw on the battery...

And 78mW's of 445 is much brighter than a class 4 blu-ray! (visually) Much brighter that I had hoped for! :)

The kit I offer does not include a 'Hot' option for this one...

Just the head drilled out to fit an AixiZ module, and the tail cap drilled out to fit a 10280...

But just to clarify, icorn25 did not get the kit from me for his build, he just got information on the assembly details from me...

That is crazy small. I dint notice it would be that size. Running it t 800mA is crazy.

Would be cool to know how powerful it is.

Jay always has awesome builds.:)

Quite honestly, that little battery won't put out 800mA's... (Guessing)

Or if it did, it would not be good for it. And it would drain in like 10 or 15 minutes...

Here's what 275mA's/78mW's of 445 looks like: (my recommended max current for this build using a 445 - you might push to 350mA's, but better to stay low IMO)

I was just viewing the thread on your build. I have to agree with you.

Thanks Jay.

I guarantee it isn't putting out 800 mA. I am just experimenting right now. I hope to have a power meter soon so I can post some exact numbers. The battery life is really short, but man this thing can burn :)

I forgot to mention that I drilled out the tail cap and I am using the 10280 battery.
