This is my first build. I elected to do it without a kit. Used stuff laying around the garage as the host, to include 2 Harbor Freight flashlights, some pvc, an AN fuel line fitting, my old military uniform with fiberglass resin, aluminum "welding" rods...

M-Type M140 445nm diode from DTR
9.98 volts of LiFePO4 battery power
LoD linear driver from LeQuack, set for 1.8A
Copper module
G2 lens

I'll attach pics. Praise, bash or advise if ya like; I've got a thick skin...:)

PS: Thanks to Laserpointerforums and a few good folks on here for the info and help!

That's what you call a unique build. Impressive! Definitely +rep worthy

That heatsink must dissipate the heat really well. Does it attach to the tripod on it's own, or do you have something to attach it with?

The heatsink is theaded 1/4 x 20 which is standard for most camera tripods.
And yes, as far as dissipating heat, it seems to be perfect for this, as it just gets slightly warm to the touch with 20 minutes or more continuous use...prob would transfer better with thermal compound but doesn't need it.

sorry, for the late reply...Yes the tripod screws on with it's own 1/4x20 threads, to the hole in the heatsink that I drilled/tapped. Thanks for digging my build!
