The Axis module will help some with heat dissipation and the max for soldering time for that package is usually 30 Seconds @ 200 degrees C. So, unless you are an idiot using a 200 Watt plumber's iron, or a torch, you'll be just fine up to 15 seconds (and probablly beyond). 15 seconds on a case connection has never killed any of my diodes and 1 second is definitely NOT enough (unless you are the idiot with the 200 Watt iron)......

I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I killed two of my A140's caused I left the solder on it for longer than 5 seconds. I have a 25W iron.

I don't know how you're doing your soldering but 15 seconds is WAY too long dude.

I appreciate those tips.
I tried all of it.

Even the positive pin is broken too
yeah I give up:)
I'll buy a new diode from DTR

thanks everyone:thanks:

The diode pins honestly shouldn't be coming off. Make sure you don't bend them. And with the soldering iron, only touch the wire with the actual tip of your iron (the copper part) that's the hottest part and will make soldering much faster.

the wire is not from website mall
it's from small store.
so yes it's very stiff.
I think this maybe caused the problem.:(bad wire

"Oh the hard lessons learned."
Thank goodness the first diode I tore the pins off of was a $10 eBay special.

Good luck in the future man!

Edit: Come to think of it...
... I tore the pins off the diode in a 3 week old Arctic!
Curiosity killed the arctic.
Oh well lazeerer got it an polished it so if it weren't for that curiosity we wouldn't have a chrome arctic floating around LOL
