Hey, this is my first post on the Laser Pointer Forums ever! How's it going everyone! Lol. Anyway hopefully it's not too bad. I am looking to pickup the most powerful, cool looking, portable green laser that I can purchase with a 500 dollar budget. I would like it to be powerful, definitely green, have a cool look to it, and have good customer service. Thanks for all your guys help, I am new to the laser world but they have amazed me from a young age, so I am highly interested in immersing myself into this world. I am aware of all safety things, etc. so no need to warn me. Thanks!

*********ATTENTION********* Now selling laser!!! Go to bottom of thread for details! Great laser for a cheap price! Private message me to make offers!!!

Will probably be best to go to the introduction section and introduce yourself. I kinda doubt you will get an answer with a typical first post such as this.

Hi,

This subject comes up many times a week. I suggest you use the search function at the foot of the page and spend some time browsing through the posts and stickies. When you have seen some units you like and have decided between 532 DPSS or 520 direct diode let us know and we can help narrow down your choice. Another option is a custom build as we have some great engineers and suppliers on this forum.

My spidey senses are telling me this is probably a bad idea for a first laser!!!!! I recommend a 5-50mw for a first. You seriously risk your safety and more importantly the safety of others if used incorrectly. Also use the search bar and find answers before posting a thread, I speak from experience, the mods and other vets don't like it. Also Just by saying don't lecture me on safety indicates a know it all attitude, and in this hobby with that kind of attitude could very well cost you your eyesight. Happy hunting and good luck.

Aware??? Do you have a pair of googles for green.

If you do let us know, give us a reason to help you.

Instead, with this being your first post, it come across to most of the veterans that you are young and ready to get arrested for pointing at an aircraft :)
:D

Nothing personal, just trying to help

Hey guys, it's me again. Thanks for all of the warnings about goggles and not pointing at aircraft's and such. Rest assured, I have safety glasses designed for a 532nm wavelength (the wavelength of the laser I decided on) and I most definitely am never ever ever going to shine a laser at an airplane, especially right after a close friend of my family died flying his plane.

Anyway I suppose I should tell you what type of laser I decided on right?

I decided to order an equality series, 532nm laser from jetlaser.org. They looked like a trustworthy company that sold quality lasers so I decided to go with them. (Not to mention they have nice hosts) Anyway, I understand I might of looked like a huge noob back there, it was just a crappy little thread I started on my iPhone. I will post some pictures and how the customer service from jetlasers was once I get it.

Any opinions on this laser? Thanks.

JetLasers products are all top level excellent products and customer service is beyond great.

For not too much extra you can get a PL-E Pro which has many more features --like internally focusable, better heat sinking so long duty cycle etc. Did you see the PL-E pro models?

I have the PLE-PRO and I absolutely love it.. I can not say enough good things about it either..

Yes, I saw all of the models on their website, and thanks guys for reassuring me of the quality of jets! Anyway, the reason I decided to go with the equality series was because of the smaller form factor. I plan on taking this laser with me lots of places such as backpacking, for astronomy etc. I thought about the differences between them and decided the smaller one was better for me.

Also, anyone know estimated shipping times to the U.S.?

Thanks for your guys help!

Since you've already purchased, and probably against my better judgement - here is what I would have suggested.

For the money, IMHO, I don't think you could do better (other than building yourself) with a DTR 510 threaded Green Diode with a Ironman style Maraxus mechanical mod and buy a AW battery.

Screw it in, no soldering, no fuss, no muss. no brainer

$460 for the 2.4A driver

$20 for the Maraxus mechanical mod

$20 - 40 for the batteries.

(Very dangerous 1 W laser)

Their shipping is very fast --once in the hands of the shipper--2-3 days usually

JetLasers products are great--you're going to love it. You are right the smaller form factor makes Equality appealing. All of the output powers offered are beyond bright being the eye is most sensitive to 555nm and 532 is close---be very careful and safe with it --very easy to damage eyes with it in less time than the blink reflex of .25 seconds.

Sorry for the bump - but I am now selling my laser. It is too dangerous and scary for me to use on a regular basis. I am afraid I will blind someone. It is a cool toy, but too powerful for me. Here is a link to the product's page -

FIXED Focus 532nm Equality series Green Lasers

It is the 600 mw equality series 532 nm dark grey. It comes with a carrying case, one 18650 battery, and a pair of protection goggles (Which I can say work very, very well) For pictures feel free to message me and I will be glad to send some however you would like them. I have had the laser for 3 months and 9 days exactly, (if you want proof contact me and I can send you the receipt) and it is under warranty until May 9th of 2016. So it has a good ~9 months under warranty still. It is in perfect condition and I have used it probably 3 or 4 times since I purchased it.

To make an offer contact me. I am trying to get it off my hands soon because I am moving to Florida soon :) so I will sell it cheap! Also, I will gladly take payment through Paypal so you have guaranteed seller protection.

Once again, I am trying to sell it somewhat quickly, so message me soon, and I will give you a great deal! Thanks again.
