more plane attacks killing our hobby 7-16-15

IMHO I would never shout or make a sound before I shoot because that one second might screw everything up be it a squirrel, rabbit, grouse, turkey, deer, bear, home invader or enemy at war. My approach has always been silent death.

I have seen video many times of the enemy shouting Allahu Akbar before they fire a weapon, it would be great to see one of our guys shout Chuck Norris. I wonder if any Belgian or French troops shout Jean Claude Van Damme.

I can't resist telling a couple of Chuck Norris jokes:

Chuck Norris doesn't wear a condom, there's no protection from Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris sleeps with the light on, not because he's afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of Chuck Norris.

Alan

I saw one the other day:

Chuck Norris once urinated into a semi as a joke. Today that semi is known as Optimus Prime.

On Topic reply: this is just insane.. I can't comprehend how any decent, normal adult would do this. It must be punk kids or screw-offs of some kind thinking they're cool, or doing it on a dare.

I take great pride in engineering, building, and doing it safely with lasers. Any brain dead moron can purchase these through the internet and do something really stupid. I keep thinking one of these days, some moron will ruin it for all of us once the unthinkable happens. :cryyy:

Posted another one this morning on another thread I had already started as the morning news covered one again in N.J. I think it was 5 separate planes hit in NJ.

*Sigh* I was just listening to the local ATC feed an a plane on final approach into our podunk airport was hit by a green laser about 5 minutes ago.

Edit: The plane's captain was talking with ATC after they landed and said they were hit again but this time they were low enough to see where the guy was. He'll likely be getting a visit from the authorities very shortly. The pilot reported that neither he nor the first officer suffered any eye injuries. Sadly he also said it wasn't the first time he had one shined at him so he knew how to react. If anyone is interested I can probably post the audio between the pilot and ATC.

Mark my words, After the first plane crashes, or somebody loses a life or becomes permanently eye damaged/blind, there WILL BE legislation restricting ownership outside of the home. Think concealed carry of firearms, only for lasers of all power levels.

You'll need a permit to purchase or possess, OWNERSHIP of certain power levels and above will be restricted/forbidden, and building your own laser will be permitted as long as it is within the allowed power levels, has been registered with the authorities and tested for compliance.

That's where we're headed with this. All become of some tomfoolery by brain-dead hacks who somehow think this is OK or fun.

I've never seen the appeal of aiming at aircraft, the risk to reward is just insane. The stupidity instantly makes me want to slap the person doing it. And believe me, if I saw it happening, that person would NOT have a laser for much longer.

Complete fools. I've only begun in this hobby, and it would be such a shame if the laws required me to stop before I've really begun.

Safety first always! This is one time where breaking the rules is not cool.

I really wish this stuff wouldn't happen. I have a feeling the problem will get worse as lasers become cheaper for higher outputs
