Oh that's just ridiculous. How would you come up with enough energy to pump it??

I doubt anyone here has the means to finance the construction of seven rooms full of capacitors.

Correct. Shine a greenie through it while pumping it with a flashlamp, and the 1064nm IR leakage is going to get amplified to a sh'tload of IR. These rods are from the Shiva laser. Google it. It's big.

I doubt green dpss's will leak any 1064, at least not the typical setup with intracavity doubling - those have HR1064 coatings on both ends of the cavity. But in any case, providing the pulse to be amplified will still be the trivial part of any experiment with this ;)
