i dont know if other people do this but i found out that if you blow in the cap of ur laser it makes alott of scatter, which wen its dark looks like a giant green spot light.. its useful cus u can use ur laser as a flashlight, lol. i don't think it hurts the laser cus it burns up the moisture fairly fast, returning to a normal dot.. heres some pics i took

Put a piece of frosted "Scotch" tape over your pointer if it has a suitably flat face.

Keeps the aperature clean when in your pocket, peel it off when you want a pointer, and leave it on and it diffuses it to a flashlight-like beam. What's also cool is that while the beams focus and collimation is ruined, the light is still coherent and in phase. So it lights up the entire room with speckled constructive and destructive interference, making every surface look like green TV static.
